Your privacy matters. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Who We Are
7778IELTS Ltd ('we', 'us', 'our') is the data controller for personal data collected through the Service. Contact: [email protected].
2. Data We Collect
Account data: name, email address, target band, exam date, and module (Academic/General) — collected at registration.
Usage data: practice attempts, essay text, audio recordings, and answers submitted for marking.
Payment data: processed entirely by our payment processors (Stripe, Razorpay). We never store raw card details.
Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and usage logs for security and performance.
3. How We Use Your Data
To provide and improve the Service: marking your tests, generating feedback, and personalising study plans.
To manage your account and send transactional emails (password reset, receipt, result ready).
For analytics (aggregated, anonymised) to improve the AI marking models.
To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.
4. Legal Bases (GDPR)
Contract: processing necessary to deliver the Service you signed up for.
Legitimate interest: fraud prevention, security, and aggregate analytics.
Consent: marketing emails and non-essential analytics cookies (you may withdraw consent at any time).
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers acting as processors under data processing agreements: cloud infrastructure (hosting), AI inference (model serving), payment processors, and error/analytics vendors.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share essay content with third parties for any purpose other than marking.
6. Data Retention
Account data: retained for as long as your account is active, then deleted within 90 days of account deletion.
Essay text and recordings: retained for 24 months after submission to support dispute re-marking, then deleted.
Financial records: retained for 7 years to satisfy accounting obligations (anonymised after account deletion).
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR and DPDP you have the right to: access, rectify, or erase your data; restrict or object to processing; data portability (via Settings → Export my data); and to withdraw consent at any time.

9. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, and access controls to protect your data. In the event of a breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
